At the upcoming VIIIth International Symposium on Schizophrenia Bern the current position as well as the further development of psychological therapy approaches in schizophrenia will be presented and discussed. The symposium especially focuses on the importance of cognitive processes for the comprehension and therapy of schizophrenia.

Venue
The Congress will take place in the buildings of the historic Rathaus (City hall) in the UNESCO-listed old town of Bern. Presentations will be held in the Grossratssaal, the parliament of the canton of Bern. The Rathaus is easily accessible by foot (15min walk from the railway station) or by public transportation (bus 12 from the railway station, direction "Zentrum Paul Klee", Rathaus stop).
As the Rathaus lies in the old town, it is close to several restaurants, cafés, hotels and other facilities.

Travel to Bern
Long distance travellers should look for flight connections to Zurich (Zürich) or Geneva (Genève). From there, Bern can be reached by train or by car (see map below). The distance from Zurich is approximately 130 km and from Geneva 160 km. If you travel by train, there are direct connections from Zurich and Geneva airport every half hour to Bern main station. The travel time is approximately one hour and a quarter from Zurich and one and a half hours from Geneva.

The Bern main station is very close to the old town. The congress venue and most of the listed recommended accomodations (see accomodation link below) are at a 10 to 15 min walking distance from the main station.
